What is 'area9'?

Area 9 is the anatomical description of an area in the frontal lobe of the brain that is accepted to play a central role in some of the highest cognitive functions such as associative thinking, memory and conceptualization.

Competences

Area9 represents a unique combination of managerial, product management, computer science, software development and science skills (incl. a strong medical background). We are a specialist company that focuses on providing break-throughs for our partners and clients both through more efficient innovation processes, but most importantly through early and efficient utilization of new scientific findings in the domains of medicine, education, math and computer science in product innovation and software development.

History

Area9 was established in January 2006. Our four founding partners brought more than 30 years of collective experience in product development in general and computer simulation and intelligent learning solutions in particular.

During their past at first Sophus Medical A/S and later at Laerdal Sophus A/S, they were responsible for the development of the portfolio of advanced medical microsimulators (see e.g. HeartCode ACLS - www.americanheart.org) - that are still the most advanced educational computer simulators ever developed.

Recently, Area9 Healthcare Inc. has raised the bar further with the release of the first simulators of a new generation in collaboration with McGraw-Hill. The internet simulators made for training of medical assistants sets new standards for verbal interaction with simulated subjects. Also, the quality of the feedback on how to learn from the simulated experiences - the debriefing - is brought to a higher level which further establishes the Area9 team as the world leaders in intelligent debriefing and coaching technologies.

Area9 is now expanding the perspectives for advanced simulation through initiatives in several areas incl. simulated customers for sales & customer service training and simulated products for education and certification of both customers and staff in the use of products.
